Afshin Heidar Abady, PhD

Afshin is a registered physiotherapist with over 20 years experience in treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, particularly in patients with spinal conditions, chronic neck and low back pain, shoulder and sports related injuries.

Afshin is a dedicated practitioner who continuously advances his knowledge and skills by taking multiple post-graduate programs.  Afshin is a certified McKenzie practitioner and a registered member of the McKenzie Institute Canada. His acupuncture credentials include being certified member of Acupuncture Canada (formerly the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute), graduate member of McMaster Contemporary Medical Acupuncture (MCMA) program and certified in Dry needling using the Gokavi Transverse Technique (GTT).

As part of his continual education Afshin completed a PhD program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Western University in London, Ontario in 2018. His research project was the first study conducted on the application of the McKenzie system on patients with shoulder problems and has gained considerable positive attention internationally since its publication.

Afshin started working in Huronview home for the aged in 2011 and continues to provide physio services to its residents. In 2014, Afshin started a small outpatient physiotherapy practice in Clinton family health team building. In 2020, he expanded his practice in town by moving to a larger space located in Clinton chiropractic & wellness centre where he has fully renovated the space to meet the growing demands and expectations of the community. Afshin continues his close working relationship with the Clinton family health team and other health professionals in the community in order to help his patients the best way possible.
